Yellow coat with feather trim
Tami Neilson wore this bright yellow coat with a matching dress to the 2016 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
Designed by Judy Moughton of Curvy Couture, Tami's yellow coat is loosely copied from a photo that Tami sent her of a 1960s model. "It's made from double sided sateen - as used for evening gowns and coats in the 30s, 40s and 50s - and lined with satin. Because of the time frame for getting the dress and coat completed, I didn't have time to source the appropriate feather trim, so used costume feathers tacked on to a backing, then attached to the coat."
