Tattoo top

New York-based New Zealand tattoo artist Victor J Webster was commissioned by Japanese designer Junya Watanabe to create this design for the Comme des Garçons Spring Summer 2019 collection shown during Paris Fashion Week in September 2018. Victor learnt to tattoo at Moko Ink, a Māori art tattoo studio in Grey Lynn, Auckland under the tutelage of Inia Taylor, Croc Coulter and Calen Paris. Inspiration from Pacific Island art and the simple repetition of patterns in nature such as in a leaf or a fern frond, are reoccurring themes in Victor's art. Cloak by Ema-Lea Phillipps, earrings by Zelda Murray.
