Viv Beck and this dress was chosen in memory of my parents, who inspired my interest in fashion and style. They didn’t have much when they arrived in New Zealand and their love of beautiful things like art, music and flowers was always uplifting.

A cobalt blue lace couture dress with hand embroidered crystals and beads, by Adrienne Winkelmann. Gold clutch and evening shoes. My mother’s Ceylonese sapphire and diamond ring.
