Dollie Vardin Millinery PM Ardern's mourning fascinator, 2022

Milliner Dawei Zhang created this black fascinator with a twisted synthetic horsehair veil detail for PM Jacinda Ardern to wear while visiting Queen Elizabeth II lying-in-state in Westminster Hall, 16th September 2022.

Dawei Zhang took over from Ailie Miller at Dollie Vardin Millinery, and continues the label's traditions of creating beautiful headwear for various occasions, including ones as momentous as this one.

The NZFM assisted with putting PM Ardern's people in touch with Zhang, and this piece was created at short notice in time for the Prime Minister's departure for London to attend the funerary events following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
