Le Bombe

This evening dress by Lisa McEwan was highly commended in the After Five High Fashion section at the 1988 Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards. Lisa entered the awards several time but this dress is more avant garde than her other entries. The title 'Le Bombe' refers to a nuclear mushroom cloud; the dress was designed as a protest against nuclear testing. The dress was photographed for Fashion Quarterly's Winter 1988 edition by Tony Drayton.
