Floral wedding dress with a pussy bow

The dress was worn Jane Norton's great-aunt, Edwa Burley, in her marriage to Reverend Sam Burley. Her maiden name was Calderwood and she was the head of music at Taumaranui High School. She was previously married but her husband died of Parkinson's when he was quite young. Edwa's father was the head of the hospital in Taumaranui. He used to ride around the area monitoring the spread of diseases such as small pox and Spanish flu. The Taumaranui designer, Michael Mattar, made all the family's "fancy" clothing.
