Scotties x Mark Popplewell 'Fashion no Existé' black belted jacket, 2000

This jacket was one of the garments created for Fashion Advice, a collaborative work with Mark Popplewell, and Scotties Auckland & Wellington in the year 2000. The boxy chore-jacket style shape is pulled in at the waist with a slip belt, and the placement of the quote print on the back is just high enough so it isn't affected.

Using a metallic paint for the grey tonal print on the black base only adds to the deeper meaning of the quote "Fashion no existé", giving the impression that it may itself disappear.
