Chlorofile Garden Party red floral crochet knit jumper, 1988
Chlorofile designer Wendy Nelson made this wool crochet jumper entirely by hand, including the three-dimensional crochet flowers in yellow and lilac that have been stitched on at the centre of the repeating base motif. This garment featured in a fashion show at the nightclub Don't tell Mama (or DTM's as it was also known as) on Karangahape Rd.
The slouchy style echoes the ease with which it could be worn, layered over more fitted garments.
The NZFM photographed this jumper at our Popup photography session in October 2024 which was part of our Hui Auaha o Aotearoa Open Day.
