Wedding dress beaded with classical motifs

This shift-style wedding dress was made in Dunedin by The DSA (Drapery Supply Association) department store. The dress is lavishly embellished with classical motifs picked out in glass beading. Esther Botting, a teacher, wore this dress when she married Henry McQueen at Dunedin’s Knox Church on 28 September 1926. She wore the dress with a long train and a fine veil attached to a head band of wax flowers.
