Strapless silk dress

Kirsty Boyd made this dress in 1992 and entered it into the evening wear section of theĀ Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards. The dress wasn't selected so she sold it.

Some years later, Kirsty came across the dress when she was working at the Remuera Sewing Centre. "A lady brought the dress in draped over her arm and asked me what she could buy to add straps to it." She had bought the dress with a friend to share and they both love wearing it for special occasions. "It was a thrill to know it was being enjoyed, and then seeing it again in the New Zealand Fashion Museum collection was amazing."
