Printed dress with lace hem trim

This dress by Narnia is made from Russian rayon that was sold in Afghanistan in the 1970s. "It was sold into the local market but we eventually tracked down the Russian mill," one of the owners of Narnia Zeke Alley recalls. "They told us they were fully committed, and we’d have to wait a year to place an order. This we did, and our shipment duly arrived in 1979. At first we made copies of the Afghan nomadic koochi dresses, with an inset embroidered bodice panel, but we soon began using it in western styles that nonetheless retained that look."
