By the 1960s when this dress was made, there were branches of the Dunedin department store, The DIC, all over New Zealand. The label refers to the dress being from the 'Model Boutique' of The DIC - it would have been an exclusive and expensive garment.

Man made fibre with lurex threads, chiffon
The dress has machine embroidered polka dots and the waist seam is piped. It has a train, swathed midriff section and a handmade fabric rose.
