Gingham suit & lemon sorbet shirt

This is the first of many suits made by Mandatory for Joe Lindsay, trombone player for Wellington band Fat Freddy's Drop. The jacket features a clever underarm invisible zip adaptation in the style of jackets made for orchestra. These release Joe's pits for arm lift enabling playing the trombone while staying suited! Joe modeled this suit for Mandatory's 10th Anniversary fashion show in 2007, which featured a number of fabulous luminaries. The suit was purchased by Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in 2010.
