Floral flock and velvet evening gown

Neridah Haworth opened a boutique in Whangarei in 1978, where she sold her designs under the label Neridah until the mid 1990s. This gown was entered in the After 5 Section of the 1987 Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards where it was described as: "Evocative baroque. A gold and black flocked taffeta evening gown with a fitted velvet bodice and puffed sleeves." It has a close fitted bodice with deep cut V neckline, leg-of-mutton sleeves and peplum over a full gathered skirt. The front and sleeves are closed with loops and buttons. Tulle and lining have been used to create volume in the skirt.
