Coat with a wide fur collar

The business, Ross & Glendining, began as a drapery store in Dunedin in 1862. By the 1940s, when this coat was made, there were Ross & Glendining branches and factories all over New Zealand. It is likely that this coat was made in the 'Coat and Cover' factory which opened in Auckland in 1921, using wool milled at Ross & Glendining's Roslyn Mill in Dunedin.
