Coat & knickerbocker overalls

This coat and knickerbockers ensemble was designed by Annie Bonza for Meegan Pollock. Meegan wore the ensemble with knee high black boots for Fashion in the Field at the Great Northern Steeplechase event at Ellerslie Racecourse. The winner of the major prize that year was Jane Daniels. The competition was judged by Peggie Wilson. Although knickerbockers surfaced on the international fashion scene in the early 1970s, they made little impact here. However when the knickerbocker trend re-emerged a decade later, it was clearly the single most important look of the winter 1982 season.
