Brown felt school hat

Despite the downturn in the hat trade, Treister Hats stayed in the business longer than most of its competitors by manufacturing a wide variety of styles for both sexes. School uniform felts, Fred Dagg canvas cow-cocky hats, Annie Hall derbys and high-domed Courrèges-style air hostess hats (for Air New Zealand) were among the many other specialised items manufactured by the company over the years. This hat was worn as part of the girls' uniform of Wellington High School in the 1940s.
