Black silk day dress with embroidered yoke

This dress has a maker’s label from Dunedin department store The DSA (Drapery Supply Association). It was part of a large collection donated to Toitū Otago Settlers Museum by Molly Parsons of Amberley in 1980. It is thought to have belonged to her grandmother, Mary Riddle (née McMaster). The black dress is brightened by colourful embroidery on the net insert in the yoke, which extends up to form a high collar.
