First birthday textile design competition

The New Zealand Fashion Museum online is turning ONE on 31 July 2014! We have plenty to celebrate with 15,000 site visits and more than 500 entries in our online collection.

We would like to mark this significant milestone by producing something fashionable to share with our supporters. We thought a kerchief – a small square that can be worn around the neck or in a pocket or purse. We would like to invite you to enter our competition to create a textile design for the kerchief. Your design must include one of our NZFM logos. Contact us to receive the design files for the logos.

If you or a friend have always wanted to do something creative with textile, this is your chance to design something that will be produced and circulated widely. The chosen design will be digitally printed at the Textile and Design Lab at AUT and will be made available for purchase through our online shop. Digital print technology allows for a range of design styles, from a full colour pictorial collage image to a subtle pattern, whatever appeals to you and best captures what is unique about the New Zealand Fashion Museum.

Design submissions must be made before 5pm on 31 July 2014. The kerchief will be produced in August.
